Meet Luz Cruz - Frederick, The Artist Behind the Magic

I’m Luz Cruz-Frederick, founder of Face & Body Art by Luz Cruz LLC, a professional artist, accredited travel professional, entrepreneur, and creative educator based in Atlanta. For more than a decade, I’ve transformed faces, bodies, canvases, and spaces into unforgettable works of art through face painting, body art, murals, custom artwork, airbrush tattoos, glitter tattoos, paint experiences, and creative instruction.

My work has been featured on Univision and has earned consistent five-star reviews across multiple platforms because I believe every client deserves more than a service — they deserve an experience built on trust, creativity, professionalism, and joy.

But my story didn’t begin in a studio.

I grew up in the New York City shelter system and experienced homelessness as a child. I was a runaway teen who emancipated herself at 16 years old. I registered myself for middle school, high school, and college on my own, becoming the first person in my family to graduate from both high school and college and later become a business owner.

Those experiences shaped everything about who I am today.

They taught me resilience, independence, empathy, and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life. They also taught me that creativity can heal, empower, and transform people — especially children and families who simply want a moment of happiness, imagination, and connection.

As both a self-taught and professionally trained artist, I have spent years investing in my craft through advanced training, conferences, and hands-on experience. My background in forensic psychology and my experience working with children of varying developmental and physical abilities allow me to create inclusive, welcoming experiences where every person feels seen and celebrated.

My company slogan, “I trust you,” came directly from the countless clients who sit in my chair and place their trust in me to bring their vision to life. That trust is something I never take lightly.

Today, my mission is bigger than art itself. I want my work to inspire people to embrace creativity, celebrate individuality, and remember that where you start does not determine where you can go.

Whether I’m painting at a festival, teaching an art class, creating custom artwork, or transforming a child into their favorite character for the day, I bring the same passion into every experience:
